Job Posting: Maintenance Supervisor
The Housing Authority of the City of Greensboro is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and perform a variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks across our housing developments. This role includes HVAC system operation and repair, apartment turnover preparation, general repairs, and emergency maintenance coverage.
Starting Salary: $50,000 annually
Reports To: Executive Director
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain HVAC systems and mechanical equipment.
- Inspect and prepare apartments for new occupancy.
- Perform repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other trades.
- Assist with fire safety inspections and recordkeeping.
- Supervise 1–2 Maintenance Technicians and provide guidance and support.
- Participate in off-shift and weekend emergency maintenance coverage.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of experience in building maintenance or equivalent technical training.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license and bondable status.
- HVAC certification or ability to obtain EPA certification within 12 months.
- Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical labor.
Skills:
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical meters.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- Ability to assign duties and supervise staff effectively.
