Job Posting: Maintenance Supervisor

The Housing Authority of the City of Greensboro is seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and perform a variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks across our housing developments. This role includes HVAC system operation and repair, apartment turnover preparation, general repairs, and emergency maintenance coverage.

Starting Salary: $50,000 annually
Reports To: Executive Director

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain HVAC systems and mechanical equipment.
  • Inspect and prepare apartments for new occupancy.
  • Perform repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and other trades.
  • Assist with fire safety inspections and recordkeeping.
  • Supervise 1–2 Maintenance Technicians and provide guidance and support.
  • Participate in off-shift and weekend emergency maintenance coverage.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in building maintenance or equivalent technical training.
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license and bondable status.
  • HVAC certification or ability to obtain EPA certification within 12 months.
  • Ability to lift, climb, and perform physical labor.

Skills:

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical meters.
  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to assign duties and supervise staff effectively.
